2012 Jessica Leanna Dame School: University of South Carolina Field of study: Is a Masters candidate at the University of South Carolina, in the School of Library and Information Science. As an undergraduate, Jessica worked as a horticulture technician and became familiar with a variety of plants. She also has experience with cataloging, writing, editing and processing newly acquired materials and scanning images, all skills needed to perform the collections management duties at the Archive of American Gardens (AAG) at the Smithsonian. She will digitize and catalog new acquisitions to the GCA Collection. |

2012 Julie Hunter School: Pratt University Field of study: Is a Masters candidate in Library Science and Information at the Pratt Institute in Brooklyn. She worked in the Dauphin County Library System in Harrisburg, PA, where she gained valuable experience with cataloging and technical writing. Currently, she is working in media services at the Pratt Library. This experience, coupled with her love of gardens, will enable her to work with the new acquisitions to the GCA Collections at the Archive of American Gardens at the Smithsonian. |
